Privacy Policy

Expert Shield is a Shopify app that helps merchants discourage casual copying of storefront content. This policy describes the information we store when you install the app.

Information we store

• Shop domain and Shopify session tokens required to keep the app installed
• Protection settings you configure in the app (toggles, warning message, warning style, activity tracking preference)
• Your current plan status as reported by Shopify billing
• Anonymous blocked-attempt counts: shop domain, event type (for example right-click or copy), optional tool name for known spy toolbars, and timestamp. We do not store visitor names, emails, IP addresses, or page query strings

Information we do not store

We do not collect or store customer personal information, order data, payment card details, or storefront visitor identities. Activity events are shop-level counts of deterrent triggers, not a profile of any shopper. Pro Spy Shield may record that a known commercial research toolbar was present, using only page traces such as injected DOM nodes. We do not enumerate personal add-ons or store extension IDs beyond a short tool name from our known list.

How we use information

Shop data is used only to authenticate the merchant, apply the selected protections, show optional blocked-attempt activity, and manage the Free or Pro subscription through Shopify billing.

Data sharing

We do not sell shop data. Shopify receives billing and session information as part of the normal app platform. Hosting is provided by our application host.

Retention and deletion

When you uninstall the app we delete your shop settings and sessions. If Shopify sends a shop redaction request, we delete remaining shop data. Customer data requests and customer redaction requests receive an empty response because we do not store customer personal data.
